POWAY, Calif. March 5th 2012 -- Cohu, Inc. (NASDAQ:COHU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas D. Kampfer as President and General Manager of Cohu’s Electronics Division, effective February 22, 2012. Mr. Kampfer has more than 25 years’ experience in a wide range of high technology businesses, from startups to public companies. Most recently he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of San Diego based, H2O Audio, Inc. a venture-backed startup providing waterproof sport headphones, cases and accessories for iDevices and other smartphones, and used by high-performance athletes around the world. From 2001 to 2009, Mr. Kampfer held senior executive positions at Iomega Corporation, a $400 million global provider of data storage solutions, including President and Chief Operating Officer from 2006 to 2009, at which time the company was acquired by EMC (NYSE:EMC). From 1996 to 2001, at Proxima Corporation, a publicly-traded pioneer in multimedia projection solutions, Mr. Kampfer was VP, Business Development; General Manager of E-Commerce and Accessories; and VP and General Counsel. He began his career at IBM where he held positions as Manufacturing and Cost Engineer, Contract Negotiator and Attorney. Mr. Kampfer has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and a J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center. “I am very pleased to join the CohuHD team and help lead the division through its next phase of growth, said Kampfer. “With our expanding line of HD IP camera systems, CohuHD is well positioned in an expanding global market space, and I am very excited about our future prospects.”
